Are you daydreaming? Or are you just planning? //////// Da li vi maštate? Ili planirate?

Month number 6, Task 1

///// For those of you who don`t have patience to read, enjoy the photos. )

//////////////

Some friends tell me that I`m organizing and planning too much. And they`re partly right. In this world of grown-ups, with new obligations from day to day,  we have less and less time for spontaneous activities. In my case, when you add "control freak" moment to those circumstances, and my perfectionism, you get a person who really likes a good and clear organization of many life events. Sometimes this is a must, but sometimes this "freak" moment only unnecessary blocks spontaneity and easy going and relaxing mood. Mine, as well as of the other acters.

But, what about the situations in which it`s not just about the simple planning, but about the contemplation, which enriches life and provokes all kind of wonderful emotions. I have given a simple word to that - daydream (imagination)! The word we usually connect to children, and which we so often forget to use in the grown-ups world. Is it because it`s a shame to use that word or it`s because a grown-up person really forget to daydream? For example: I`m a big romantic, and from my childhood I`ve been dreaming about my wedding, as one of the best and the most important parties in my life. Yes, you heard that right - the wedding, with all the 100 and something guests, me in the wedding gown, register, church, party all the night. With all the details, and music by my taste, of course. (I emphasized this because in Serbia more and more young people don`t make weddings anymore). And so, I still caught myself sometimes imagining myself in a wedding gown, than the look of my groom when he notices me all innocent in the gown, the moment when we say YES, and stuff like that. And then I often can`t fall asleep from all the strong emotions that those visualizations have provoked. When (and if) I get married, it will probably be in a completely different gown, in completely different atmosphere, with some new people, because you can`t plan those things in advance.  And then I ask myself: was I daydreaming, or was I just wasting my time planning? Another example, I`m a proud owner of my own apartment now, but until a year ago I spent nights and nights (this is my favourite part of the day for (day)dreaming) in visualizing how my apartment would look like. From the organizations of the rooms, colours of the walls to the furniture organization. Often I caught myself in closing eyes very tight so that I could easier imagine the apartment, and sometimes I was even getting up, opening the IKEA catalogue and completing my visualizations. Now, of course, I have the apartment with a completely different wall colours, furniture and room organization, because I was choosing all that according to my present taste and opportunities. One friend than asked me: "Then why have you wasted your time in PLANNING?". And I really don`t have the feeling that I was wasting time, but rather enjoying in daydreaming.

When a child imagine itself with a favourite toy or at a favourite place, we don`t say that it`s "planning". We know that this cognitive process is still not possible at that age, so we say that it`s imagining. And when an adult person is imagining oneself in a favourite clothes, on a favourite place or event, we say that he/she is planning rather than imagining/daydreaming. Daydreaming is a word which often has the conotation of immaturity, and we rather don`t use it in a grown-up world. And if we do, it`s often with negative conotation - for people who are not with both feet on the ground, which is expected in adult life, but they are rather wasting time in useless daydreams.

Now we are grown ups, and everything is much complicated. Sometimes, there`s a thin line between planning and daydreaming, and now they`re often two complementary components, which are richer if they are completing one another.

It`s important to have that in mind every time when we have a feeling that we are wasting time in daydreaming. Maybe our life would be much easier if we kept some good habits from our childhood, and if we didn`t give negative conotations to the processes that were only enriching our childhood. Processes and things which could do the same to us even now when we`re grown ups, only if we let them.

Neprocenjivo!

///////

I have just come back from a perfect weekend-off journey through Serbian nature. Divcibare, Zlatibor, Mokra gora (famous mountains in Serbia). So many moments for daydreaming, and almost none for planning. Priceless.

Meet nightie Saskia

Month number 4, Task 6

I još uvek me drži želja za povrmenim izlascima... Roditelji me često pitaju "kad ćeš prestati?", ja nisam sigurna da li ću odgovor znati u skorijoj budućnosti.
Pošto sam niska, štikle me malo izduže i daju mi dodatnu notu ženstvenosti, koja mi izuzetno prija.

///////////////////////

I still like to go out, and I still somehow manage to combine all the obligations with frequent (often big) night outs in the town. I still have the need to go out.. My parents often ask me "when will you stop?", but I`m not sure if I`ll know the answer in near future. And will I ever know it?
Anyway, until I get to the right answer, here`s one example of my "night out" outfit. For years now, I usually wear high heels in the night. Which doesn`t mean tha flat shoes can not be equally elegant for me... Since I`m short, high heels give me a bit of more height, and additional feminine note, in which I enjoy very much. In winter, I usually combine the heels with slim pants, and in summer usually with shirts and skirts. Jewelery is once again unavoidable detail of my outfit. I`m weak on bags, but when I go out, I usually bring a few regulars of them. The reason is simple: I usually go to clubs and happenings where there`s lot of dancing, and I leave my bag wherever it suits me, so I don`t want to risk making someone happy by giving them the opportunity to steal some of my precious favourites.

This is the example of one of my nightie outfits. Some of them you can see here, and I believe that the examples will show up in near future also, as an additional element of some of my upcoming posts :)

////////////

By this, another month of my project is off. It seems to me that this month I was just finishing the tasks, rather then enjoying in their challenge. I caught myself just photographing for tasks, and not additionaly paying attention to my outfit and to improving it, which was the goal anyway. That`s why for next month I will do something very enjoyable and challenging for me. The task for next month is: TO DISCOVER 6 (FOR ME) NEW MUSIC ARTISTS IN WHOSE MUSIC I ENJOY. Before, I had a ritual to discover new artists every week, because music is important detail in my life. Lately, I have neglected that part of  "moment to my self" part of life, so I can`t wait those new discoveries which I`ll gladly share with you.

Meet "business" Saskia, part 2

 Month number 4, Task 4

///////

When you see the photos, u`ll probably wonder: what exactly is "business" here? However, as I have explained in my previous "business" post, that kind of style in my job position has a completely different meaning. It could be said that in my case "business" and "casual" sometimes intertwine.

Opet veoma važni detalji.... //////////// Again, very important details...

... i naravno cipele - moj najnoviji outfit fetish!

//////////////

... and, of course, shoes - my newest outfit fetish! Interesting story about these shoes is that I got them from a coleague of mine, to whose daughter these shoes were small. I am the smallest of all the coleagues of mine, so they very often bring me wardrobe which is small for them, or for their daughters. In the beginning I was uncomfortable about that, but now I have to admit that I`m usually overwelhmed by pure happiness when they bring me something, and I, as a little child, am about to open the "present bag", when it`s not even my birthday :)

//////

When I buy new shoes, there`s like fire in my feet :)

Meet casual Saskia

Month number 4, Task 3

///////

This is one combination of my daily casual outfit. It`s usually not about brave, vivid in colours combinations, but I always have some accessorie as a detail that completes that outfit. In summer it`s usually about jewelry or shoes, and in winter it`s scarves, knitted sleeves or bags.

Meet festival Saskia

 Month number 4, Task 2

Sledi par fotografija mene u različitim festival outfitima.

//////////////////////////

Sorry if I haven`t been commenting or writign long. I was at the festival :) The festival in question is Exit festival - one of the most popular music festivals in Europe, which is held for 13th time in a row in my city of Novi Sad, Serbia. And I, of course, have been to all of the festivals until now :) The festival lasted for 4 days, and for me and my friends for 6 days. The day before the festival you prepare yourself, and the day after you are resting. This time I was cleaning my apartment teh day after the festival, since I was the hostess to my friends from other cities.
The next few photos are with me in different outfits. As you could see, I don`t like to put theatrical make up on me, or parade details and accessories "a la festivale". On festivals I also love to combine the parts of wardrobe, on a simple way sometimes, and to wear comfortable shoes, but adequate for dust or mudd, in which I`ll be dancing all night through.

Every further comment of how it was on the festival, would be sufficient. The photos will say more than words, as well as this video:

Meet business Saskia

Month number 4, Task 1

Ovo sam ja u business izdanju. U pitanju su dve malo elegantnije varijante, a uskoro sledi i casual business kombinacija...

////////////////////

This is me in business outfit. The photos are about two more elegant combinations. Soon, I`ll post some more casual business combinations of mine...

Ja bih rekla, realna i jaka.

Stay tuned!

//////////////////////////////

As it can be seen on the photos, when you work in a public institution, that "business" style doesn`t necessarily mean that you wear suits, high heels etx. "Business" in my institution is connected to free and "well behaved" style. It`s not forbidden to come in sneakers, but rarely anyone does that. When I think better, I don`t know the reason for that... On the other side, it`s a good feeling when you know that, when "those" days come in which you don`t have the inspiration for creating the outfits, and when you feel that you "don`t have anything to wear" and that you would rather stay at home, you can relax and put on yourself the first that comes to your hand. Then you use your right to that "casual" moment which is sometimes allowed in your institution, even though it means that underneath your pants some sneakers are peeking.

Considering that I work with juveniles with disruptive behaviour, I think that it would be nonsensical to welcome them in a suit, because in that case it would be hard to have that "hello, I`m your friend, I want to help you". It would be more "I want to be the authority and I want you to obey" :)

And what is Saskia like at work? People that don`t know me in that version maybe will be surprised when I say that I`m rather serious, and not always positive. I would say, realistic and strong. When I was a student I was known for my positive energy and always a smiling face. Which is the thing that my coleagues probably couldn`t connect to me.. The fact is that you have to be proffesional, efficient and aimed to goals realizing, so you kind of forget to smile often somewhere on the way. And when you are constantly underslept and you meet thousands of limitations that burn wings of your enthusiasm, the smile is again left on aside.

However, soon you will be able to see that I still know how to enjoy and honestly smile. You will be able to find that out in my next post, when you`ll hear a report from a Festival Saskia. Stay tuned!

Friday night is great time for making a cake!

Month number 3, task 5

I doček rođendana moje drage drugarice Andree.

/////////

Once was Friday night reserved for different things, but now it was reserved for making a cake. And for welcoming a birthday of my dear friend Andrea. Totally equal enjoyment as if we went out, and it lasted equally long. To get the inspiration for what we have planned, we reached for sangria...

Dobitna kombinacija! Može i recept:

800g plazme
4 jabuke
3 banane
2 pakovanja smrznutih malina
400 g šećera u prahu
1 margarin
frosting
Smarties bombonice

Istopiti margarin sa šećerom. Narendati jabuke i pomešati ih sa plazmom. Dodati umućeni margarin i malo šlaga. Staviti polovinu smese na tacnu. Preko nje poređati maline i iseckane banane. Prekriti drugom polovinom smese. Preliti šlagom. Ukrasiti smarties bombonama. Gotovo!

///////////////////////////////

It was good to make a cake for her birthday. Simple and of course without baking, because the goal was to hang out and to have a good time, and not to summer cook in the kitchen. The cake in question is fruity plazmatic cake (Plazma is popular biscuit in Serbia, the ingredient every house have). It`s a winning combination. The recipe:

800g (Plazma) powder biscuit
4 apples
3 bananas
2 packages of frozen raspberries
400 g powder sugar
1 butter
frosting
Smarties

Melt butter with sugar. Shred the apples and mix it with Plazma. Add melted butter and sugar. Add a little frosting into the mixture. Put half of the mixture on a plate. Cover it with cut bananas and raspberries. Cover it with other half of the mixture. Cover it with frosting. Decorate it with smarties. Done!

Detalji... ////// Details...

Posle pravljenja torte i sati i sati priče, predložila sam da joj ofarbam koju šišarku, i doprinesem ukrašavanju njene savršene terase..

////////////////

I was seriously aware of the fact that it was Friday night and therefore I really stayed for long. After making a cake and hours and hours of talking, I suggested her to colour some pinecones, and that way to make a contribution to decorating of her perfect balcony.

Sitnica... //// A small thing from me...

///////////////////

And then her boyfriend came, who was sweet enough to leave us alone for all those hours. I wanted to talk with him a bit, too. Afterwards we concluded that it was a pity that I hadn`t brought my pyjamas with me, so that I could sleep at their place at the end :)

Summer in the city!

Month number 3, Task 4

//////

That feeling when you don`t know what to do first, cause summer is finally there! And summer with temperatures so high, that you easily forget how you longed for the sun, cause now you can only think about a refreshing rain shower..

A ne! Glavni junaci smo opet moj momak i ja, tj.

////

Oh no! The main characters of the story are again my boyfriend and me, i.e. Denis and me (he wanted me to start calling him by his name on the blog :) ). We were on Strand, city beach on the Danube. Some say that it`s the most beautiful beach along the flow of the Danube. It`s like you are at the seaside, except you don`t have joining the sea with the sky in the offing :)
First, it was good to start the sunbathing season...

..Svako stopalo u pesku mora izgledati lepše...

/////

... Every foot in the sand must look nicer...

Detalji... ///// ... The details...

Osnovnoškolke piju pivo (a mi taman gledali film Klip) :(

//////

Elementary school girls are drinking beer (and we have just watched the movie Clip - a brutal view on wrong values among the youngsters in Serbia :( )

Tamo ću te voditi.... ///// I`ll take you there...

Na jednoj strani plaže program za decu... //// On one part of the beach there`s a programme for children...

... a na drugoj zabava za mlade...//// ... and on the other there`s a party for the young...

//////

It would be good to drink something after a long and difficult day on the beach :)

Novi Sad je čudo!

//////

Novi Sad is a miracle!
